Effective Strategy for Class 12 Biology:

  1. Get Familiar with the Exam Pattern First:
  •  It is extremely important to get familiar with the CBSE Class 12 Biology paper blueprint. The board publishes the pattern every year to help students understand the pattern and prepare accordingly.
  1. Complete the base of your Syllabus and Stick with it:
  •  Even though the board exam gives students choices, most of the time they are from the same unit, so students need to prepare the entire syllabus thoroughly to tackle any question in the exam. Questions are asked from the syllabus, so it is recommended that they prepare the syllabus thoroughly.
  1. Thoroughly go through the diagrams and terminologies:
  •  The biology paper includes a few diagram-related questions. Apart from the terms and their definitions, the biology paper is a theoretical and conceptual subject. Students need to be familiar with important terminologies. In an exam, students should practice drawing diagrams a lot so that they can draw them quickly in the exam. Flashcards can help students memorize and revise important definitions and diagrams.
  1. Solve Previous Year Sample Paper:
  • Past year papers and CBSE Class 12 Biology sample papers can help students understand the type and pattern of the questions. Solving several questions will give them enough practise to deal with any type of question in the exam. Students may also be able to complete the work within the allotted time frame. Students can use a practice question paper to see how well they are prepared for the real test. They learn about their strengths and weaknesses. Working on them will help students do better in the exam.
  1. Revising Properly each topic:
  •  The final days leading up to the board exam should be focused mostly on revision. All of the crucial topics are remembered by continuous revision, and one may effectively remember the concepts throughout the exam. So, now is the time to thoroughly review the chapter and diagrams. It’s also a good idea to pay extra attention to the crucial themes that carry more weight.
  1. Time management during Exam:
  •  Section A should not take more than 25 minutes to complete because the questions are of the short-answer variety.
  •  Section B should take 40 minutes to complete because there are seven questions.
  • Section C has 12 questions and should be completed in under an hour.
  •  Section D consists of long-answer questions, and it should not take more than 45 minutes to complete.
  •  Use the remaining 10 to 15 minutes to revise and double-check that all of the questions have been answered correctly.
  1. Presentation of your answers:
  •  Use a sharp pencil to write correctly and create the diagrams.
  •  Label the diagram with a ruler, and label the diagrams on the right side of the paper if possible.
  •  Highlight crucial words and phrases in the response.
  •  New parts should begin on a new page.
  •  Even if the question does not ask for diagrams, include them (especially questions which is containing 3-, 4- and 5-marks).
  •  Students should review the Solution PDF for the previous year’s Biology examinations, which have been issued by CBSE. This will aid students in comprehending response writing skills and the procedure of assigning marks gradually.
  1. Preparation
  •  Do not attempt to cram the material otherwise you will miss some exam points. Instead, spend at least 2 to 3 weeks before the biology exam in a consistent way.
  •  Participate in class because some of the topics can be clarified with the help of the teachers.
  •  Make a timetable when and which chapter you are going to finish and stick to the plan.
  •  Try to practice the diagrams regularly with labels then you can remember the names of each part of the diagram.
  • Practising online is the easiest way where you can enjoy learning by watching videos and even you can memories things more accurately as our brain remembers things which it has seen in the video instead of words. So, it becomes much easier nowadays to get materials from the internet. You don’t need to go to the library and search for content instead you can find it easily from home by using your internet where plenty of study materials are available.

How to write a note

If the instructor writes anything on the board, make a note of it. And put it in your notes if your teacher says this is crucial or something along those lines. If your teacher refers to a particular page or figure in the book, make a note of that page or figure number so you can return to it later. Sometimes a teacher gives a hint about that portion of the chapter then mark it because it may come in your finals.
